  • Email Content (Transient Access): We access your email content via Google APIs solely for the purpose of processing it. We do not store your raw emails on our servers. This data is processed in-memory and heavily protected.
  • Account credentials (such as username and password) for accessing the platform.
  • Usage data, including interactions with AI tools, lesson progress, and assessment results. This data is used to provide the services and personalize the learning experience.
  • Technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and operating system, for analytical and security purposes.

2. Use of Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our educational platform.
  • Personalize and improve your learning experience.
  • Process registrations and manage user accounts.
  • Communicate with you, including responding to inquiries and providing updates about our services.
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve our platform's functionality and content.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our platform.

3. AI-Generated Content and Data

Our platform utilizes AI to generate educational content and power interactive tools. When you interact with these AI features, your input may be processed by third-party AI service providers to generate responses.

General Disclaimer on AI and Data: While we endeavor to select AI partners with strong privacy practices, the data you provide generally to AI tools generally may be used by these AI systems in accordance with their own privacy policies. However, please see Section 4 regarding specific restrictions on data sourced from Google APIs.

4. Limited Use Policy for Google User Data

Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, if you provide the App access to your Google data (e.g., through Google Workspace APIs or 'Sign in with Google'), the App's use of that data will be strictly limited to providing or improving the App's user-facing features that are visible and prominent in the requesting application's user interface.

Specifically, regarding data obtained through Google APIs:

  • In-Memory Processing: Email data accessed via Google APIs is processed strictly in-memory. We do not save, persist, or archive your raw email content on our servers or databases.
  • Summarization & Classification: We use the Gemini API (Google's AI) to process, classify, and summarize the email content. We do not share your email data with any other third-party tools, humans, or services.
  • Selective Retention: We only retain the summarized version of the email, and only if the AI determines the content is relevant to the Child's School activities. If deemed irrelevant, the data is discarded immediately after processing.
  • We do not use your Google user data for developing, improving, or training generalized artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML) models.
  • The App’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Retention and Security

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. For email data, we do not retain raw emails. We only retain the generated summaries if they are relevant to school activities. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data security.

6. Cookies

Our website may use "cookies" to enhance user experience. Your web browser places cookies on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. You may choose to set your web browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you do so, note that some parts of the Site may not function properly.

7. Third-Party Services

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services, or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

AI Explorers is intended for use by schools and students from grades 1-12. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations. We expect schools, districts, or parents/guardians to provide consent for the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 if applicable under local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 without consent, please contact us immediately.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
